With Roger Waters’ singing “Two Suns in the Sunset,” which depicts lyrically what a nuclear war would mean for human life, as accompaniment, this video has Dr. William R. Polk explaining in greater detail what nuclear war would do to human life. Dr. William (Bill) R. Polk was a high-level State Department official during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis who was called in as one of only three advisors to the Executive Committee (ExComm) to advise President Kennedy on how to “survive” the crisis. A nuclear crisis that the historical record would show was the making of the U.S. itself, with its provocations against Cuba, like the Bay of Pigs invasion organized and commanded by the CIA, and other aggressive acts to include placing U.S. nuclear armed missiles in Turkey, minutes from Moscow. This is not to excuse what the Soviets were doing. But the Cuban Missile Crisis revealed that within the inner, and higher, ranks of the so-called U.S. National Security establishment, we had genuinely, fascist-minded individuals who were willing even to see “Only 60 Million” Americans die in a U.S. initiated nuclear exchange, so long as they could see even upwards of 400 million human beings die in Russia, Europe, and China, as the U.S. Military and CIA leadership’s plans always called for simultaneous attacks on U.S. “enemies.” Few human beings would have been left alive on this earth after our U.S. Air Force under General Curtis LeMay, and our Navy under equally militaristic leadership, was done with the world. Today, October 2021 as this is published, we have violently, diabolically, and recklessly, once again brought the world to the abyss, with the nuclear doomsday clock soon to be even closer to “Midnight.” Perhaps simultaneously with Nuclear Armageddon?
